Founded April 1976 by our Overseer Rev. Dr. Repsie M. Warren and Rev. Dorothy J. Josey, Society For Helping Church is a non-demoniational Bible teaching church that by commission from God provides a holistic inclusive ministry where deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing persons grow spiritually together while empowering deaf and hard-of-hearing persons to funchtion well within a deaf world.
Society For Helping Church holistic approach is based on P.I.E.S.S. development, physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development.

Born May 21, 1947 the daughter of the late Robert, Sr. and Gladys Nealy, Rev. Barbara Montague is the mother of Mona Denise Ivey, proud Grandmother of Maya Alexa Ivey, sister of Dwayne Preston Nealy and adopted Daughter of Reverend Dr. Repsie M. Warren.
Baptized at the age 13 years at Zion Baptist Church in Philadelphia by the late Reverend Dr. Leon H. Sullivan, Rev. Montague was rasied and nurtured in Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church under the Pastorship of Reverend Frederick L. Bowers, III. She joined Society for Helping Church (SFHC) with her daughter Mona in 1976 under Overseer and Founder, Reverend Dr. Repsie M. Warren.
Pastor Montague (lovingly known as Pastor Barbara) delivered her initial sermon and was licensed to preach December 16, 2001 and ordained on November 13, 2005 by Rev. Dr. Repsie M. Warren. Following Shepherding, Teaching, and Counseling from our Overseer R.M. Warren, Pastor Barbara was appointed Pastor of Society for Helping Church, November 30, 2011. Formal Installation as Pastor, took place on Sunday, February 26, 2012.
